This was a difficult poem to write because it seemed full of emotional and spiritual suppression. I really haven't seen this horse in 2006. Maybe in 2007. We have no snow on the ground but I know he's out there waiting, either peacefully or, more likely, patiently.

A Christmas Day Recall

A messenger whispers:

Crystalline
Heaven
Reflects
Inside
Snowbound
Timeless
Memories
Abiding
Solitude.

Driven to go far
Away from a noisy destination
Yearning only for peace.

I am sadly a helpless passenger.

Riding by a glistening white field
Engulfing one small dark silhouette.
Cold air seems to cruelly caress
A lone statuesque horse,
Looking at me
Looking at him.
