Invasion Of The Body Snatchers

Being a so-called citizen here

The old movie comes to mind:

‘Invasion Of The Body Snatchers’

The best soul-stealing movie of all time

I live in NH yet not quite converted

There’s so many potholes to be averted!

You’ll look like a drunk navigating this Hell

For all of your efforts I have a story to tell

Driving with courtesy long ago was the rule

It’s now the exception like staying in school

A yellow light means haul ass or wait Ten

More minutes that is, ’til it’s your turn again

Just read our newspaper for a one-sided crime

Slamming one of their scapegoats every time

What about the landlords who’ll suck dry your veins

Cause this is a college town with out-of-state gains?

Live free or DIE—our State license plate claims

While pedestrian zombies are dragging their chains

Step right out in front of you cause they’re already dead!

Totally pointless thinking they’ll get ahead

Or they’re in a pick-up truck designed like a tank

Squeezing their big butts through a lane at the bank

Oh yeah speaking of waiting to see someone

Try the Emergency Room if you want to have fun

For hours on end you can gag into the air

Cause you’re considered a fake for being there!

With these kind of people you’re better off alone

They won’t help you up much less toss you a bone

But there they are dressed up on a Sunday!

Then toting their guns come Glorious Monday

They cut you off and hiss at your presence

Look straight beyond the laboring peasants

You’ll need antidepressants and sedatives to assist

Cause you’ll get so disgusted and royally pissed

I could keep writing about all the Absurd

But you can ask any one of us who goes unheard.
