A Christmas Day Recall

by | May 30, 2008 | Poetically Correct

Crystalline
Heaven
Reflects
Inside
Snowbound
Timeless
Memories
Abiding
Solitude.

Once again I am
The passenger.

Driven so far
Away from the noise,
Yearning only for peace.
I see myself float by
The same glistening white field
I see a cross
The distant silhouette.

(A slow moving landscape in a fast car)

I imagine the frigid wind
Cruelly caressing this One
Mild-mannered horse,
As if frozen in place,
Like some statue,
Standing dark and defiant,
Or just possibly
Willfully waiting,
Looking to me,
Looking at Him.
